It’s time to bring infrastructure justice to Los Angeles County.

With the right approach, we can transform regional infrastructure development to promote public health, equity, and social and community justice.

A strategic, coordinated, leveraged approach to new infrastructure projects could transform our region. We are in an unprecedented time. Existing infrastructure is aging out, climate change is dramatically impacting our society. Funding from federal, state and local funds, while not sufficient to meet these needs, can be leveraged to reimagine our built environment to be transformative and impactful, particularly for communities who have faced historic disinvestment.

Background

LA County voters dedicated $1.6 billion annually to improve regional infrastructure in the areas of stormwater management, housing, parks, and transit. Further, state and federal funding for infrastructure projects has recently become available. These funds, can be leveraged together to advance infrastructure justice and reverse structural disinvestment in frontline communities. We have the will and the way to make infrastructure in LA County more just and equitable. This coalition of experienced NGO leaders is committed to achieving an equitable and just infrastructure investment future for our region.

The Approach
